Genelea Heater Pauley, 73, of Dunbar passed away very suddenly on January 18, 2014 at Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She was born on August 3, 1940 to the late Orval and Georgia Heater. She spent her early years in Dunbar and attended Dunbar High School. She spent her last year of high school at Stonewall Jackson High School, but she always considered herself a Dunbar High Graduate. She retired from the State Public Retirement Board. Genelea then managed Grandma's Attic Gift Shop and for the past twelve years has been office manager for Creekside Counseling. Genelea enjoyed reading and was an avid animal lover, including groundhogs. She was a member of Dunbar First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school secretary.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Laura Lee Pauley; brothers, E.B. Heater, Charles W. Heater, Riley N. Heater, and Dennis C. Heater; and sisters, Laura Heater Marcum and Aselea Heater.
Genelea is survived by her husband, David Lee Pauley; brothers, Fred Heater and Douglas Heater; and sisters, Frances Wilmoth and Vida Garrett.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, January 22 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, January 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Sam Gasaway officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.
