Genevieve "Jenny" Adams has entered the gates of Heaven on December 28, 2024.

She was born in Heizer, WV on April 15, 1922, but spent most of her life in Charleston, WV.

Jenny graduated from Charleston High School in 1940 and Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston) where she was a member of the 1st Majorette Corps in WV, and the Phi Kappa Sigma Sorority among other activities. While at Morris Harvey, Jenny met her future husband, Sparky Adams, noted athlete, coach, and sports official.  Sparky died in 1985 after 42 years of marriage.

Jenny was a stay at home mom until 1964 when she became an Adult Education Teacher and was named "WV Adult Educator of the Year" in 1982. While growing up, she attended Bream Presbyterian Church, and then after she married, joined St. Marks Methodist Church where she was an active member for 45 years.  In 2000, she moved to Dunbar, WV and joined the Dunbar Baptist Church.  In 2014, she returned to Putnam County (Scott Depot) and attended Redeemer Presbyterian Church until the pandemic in 2019.  After that she spent most of her time watching TV ministers, reading, and working crossword puzzles.

In addition tho her husband, Jenny was preceded in death by her foster mother, Mrs. Minnie Taylor.

Jenny is survived by her sons, Sparky Adams II (Harriett) of Scott Depot and Hank Adams (June) of Nitro, WV; daughter, Janie Brown (Tom) of Dublin, Ohio; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson ,one step granddaughter, one step grandson, and one step great-grandson.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 - 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 4, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with a graveside service at 2:00 pm at the Upper Mausoleum in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans with Pastor Barrett Jordan officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the charity of your choice.
