George David Mitchell's Obituary
George David Mitchell, 72, of Charleston, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at his home.
He had been a self-employed painter and was the type of person who touched many people's hearts.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn Mitchell, mother, Julia Brown and brothers, Basil and Freddy Mitchell.
Surviving are his children, Darlene Colburn, Diane Mitchell and Donna Keller of Florida, Ellen Luye of Missouri, Angie Lovejoy of Ohio, Georgia White and husband, Scott of Bridgeport, Jeanette Kinder and husband, Kevin Peal of Sissonville, Betty Jo Rock of Charleston and David Mitchell and wife, Jeannie of Sissonville; step-son, Jerry Cheeks of South Charleston; step-daughter, Melissa Cheeks Booth of Cross Lanes; brother, Kenneth Mitchell of Ripley; sisters, Kathleen Bailes of Fla., Bonnie Johnson of Rock Branch, Betty Moore of Charleston, Helen Smith of Lansing, MI and Charlotte Moore of Nitro.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, October 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. William Asbury officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Friends may call two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help with expenses be sent to the Mitchell Family, P. O. Box 13555, Sissonville, WV 25320.
