George Kenneth Frame, 85, of Nitro, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the Hubbard Hospice House, after a seven year struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
George was born December 29, 1923 in Beaver Falls, PA, and raised in Rockland, OH. He and his wife settled in Nitro, WV 26 years ago after 36 years of service to Gulf Oil and having lived in Ohio, West Virginia, New York, and Pennsylvania.
He served his country in World War II, in both the Pacific and Atlantic Theatres. He received five battle ribbons and the Bronze Star during service from 1941 to 1945 in the US Navy.
George was preceded in death by his three sons, Mike, Pat, and Joe. He is also preceded by his parents, George H. Frame and Ida; sisters, Margaret Bowersock, Alice Kent; brother, Glen Frame.
Mr. Frame is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Clara Young Frame, originally of Pittsburgh. His four loving daughters, Susan (Cort) Coghill of Lynchburg, VA, Nancy Semenko of Pittsburgh, PA, Joyce (Darrell Duffy) Frame of Chesapeake, VA, Sherry (Yvonne Sari) Frame of Charleston, WV; seven grandchildren, Cortland Coghill, IV, Colleen Scott, Jennifer Rouzee, Emily Phillips, Gregory Coghill, Michael Duffy, James Duffy; seven great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Brown of Marietta, OH.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 10, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Ms. Sharon Pendleton officiating. Burial with military rites will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Evergreen Cemetery, Parkersburg, WV, with the Rev. Timothy Allen officiating.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, February 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
