George W. "Bill" Young, 79, of South Charleston, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at Hubbard Hospice House.
Before his retirement he was the owner of Young's TV Service in Dunbar and St. Albans. Bill was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II and after his discharge in 1946 he served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Young, his second wife, Gloria Young, his parents, Adam H. and Bessie Young, step-mother, Mary Young, brothers, Lionel and Charles Young and sisters, Willa Roach and Jo Ann Asay.
Surviving are his son, Walter Young and his wife, Shirley of Beckley; daughter, Sandra Walker and her husband, Jim of South Charleston; brother, James Young and his wife, Connie of Kanawha City; sisters, Genevieve Adams and Emogene Tucker of Dunbar, Wanda Oxley and her husband, Bob of South Charleston and Dorcas Burdette and her husband, Don of Charleston; four grandchildren, Jessie and Chad Walker and Amanda and Heather Young.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 30, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Terry Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
