Gerald L. Lawrentz's Obituary
Gerald L. Lawrentz, 79, of Dunbar, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at home, after a short illness.
He was born December 19, 1930, in Walton. He was the son of Homer G. and Mary Louraine Damewood Lawrentz. Gerald was a member of Starcher Baptist Church.
He was a claims representative for 22 years for Transamerica Insurance Company and 3 years for CNA Insurance Company. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jean Swanson Lawrentz; two brothers, Sydney Earl Lawrentz, and Homer Graey Lawrentz, Jr.
Mr. Lawrentz is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Milton and Dolores Lawrentz of Charleston, Deo and Roslyn Lawrentz of South Charleston.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 3, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
