Reverend Gerald K. Taylor, 88, of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2013.
Rev. Taylor pastored, at Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Sunlight Baptist Church, and Bethal Baptist Church on South Ruffner Road. He preached for 54 years at a variety of churches across the valley. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Taylor ministered for 16 years at Oak Ridge Skilled Nursing Center and nine years at the Men's Homeless Shelter. He enjoyed riding his bike and bowling. He was retired after 40 years of service from Persingers, now known as Industrial Supply Solutions.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Mae; son, Larry Dale Taylor; parents, Rev. Lewis and Janie Taylor; brothers, Charles Taylor, Bud Taylor, and Markey Taylor; sisters, Arlene Atkinson and Mary Stump.
Rev. Taylor is survived by his son, Ralph Taylor and wife Kathy of Dunbar; daughter, Carolyn Huffman and husband Norman of Charleston; sisters, Amber Jones, Phyllis Garrett, Wanda Herill, and Mildred Martinez; grandchildren, Angie Lanham, Brad Taylor, and Melissa Browning; great-grandchildren, Christian and Ariel Dillon, Hannah Browning, Emily and Isabella Lanham.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Reverend Roy Huffman and Reverend Roger Mullins officiating. Burial will follow at Elk Hills Cemetery.
