Gerrie
Goff
November 24, 1946 – December 3, 2020
Gerrie "Gaga" Goff, 74, entered into her eternal home and was reunited with her beloved son Eddie on December 3, 2020.
She was born in Lincoln County, the oldest of four sisters.
Gerrie married young and started a family, for whom she worked hard her whole life. She lived for a short time in Indiana, then came back to her West Virginia home to raise her children, whom she loved fiercely.
She retired from West Virginia State University, and after a short break returned to work for several more years. Family was most important to her, and she enjoyed traveling to visit her sisters in Arizona, hosting family get togethers, and never passed up a chance to vacation at the beach. She was happiest in her flower garden and pampering her feathered daughter, Yoshi the Quaker parrot. To Gerrie, age was just a number, and she lived life to the fullest, never slowing down until shortly before her cancer diagnosis.
Gerrie attended Dunbar Church of the Nazarene for almost twenty years and was always willing to help in children's ministries and serve others in any way she could. Not only was she "Gaga" to her family, but her church family as well. Gerrie will be sadly missed by her loved ones and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wayne "Pig" Goff; her mother, Gladys Gladwell; and her beloved son, Edward Allen Allman.
Gerrie is survived by her son, Kenneth Edward Allman, Jr. (Selenge); daughter, Melissa Lynn Fields (Jeff); 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid and respect for family, services were postponed.
A celebration of her life will now be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 30 th , at Dunbar Church of the Nazarene, Dunbar.
