Gladys Pearl Young, 85, of South Charleston, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Hubbard Hospice House West.

She was born on April 28, 1932, in Dunbar, to the late Albert and Zina Jones.

She labored side by side with her husband, Rev. Delmar Young, in the ministry for over 50 years. She enjoyed teaching young people. Her value is immeasurable for training young men and young women. She always found the good and brought out the good in people.

Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Rev. Delmar Young, sons; David Young (Robin) of Logan, Charles Young of South Charleston, Larry Young (Brenda) of South Charleston, Allen Young (Melissa) of South Charleston, daughter; Janet Holstein (Jessie) of South Charleston, sister; Hazel Burdette of St. Albans, seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one soon to arrive.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Roe Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
