Glen Carrol Miles, 78, of Myrtle Beach, SC, formerly of Nitro, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2011, at CAMC – Memorial Hospital.
He was the retired former general manager of the Safety Supply America Co. in Dunbar and was a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet Pauline Miles; parents, James Ruffner and Ida Bell Miles; son, Gerald Lee Miles; brothers, LeRoy Miles, Kelly Thornton Miles and Eugene Miles; sister, Joyce Miles and grandson, Christopher Miles.
Surviving are sons, Johnnie Miles and wife, Rene of Columbia, Miss, and Glen Duane Miles and wife, Precy of Suffolk, Va; daughter, Teresa Black of Cross Lanes; brothers, James Ruffner Miles, Jr. of Scott Depot, Don Miles of Griffithsville, Stan and Dennis Miles of St. Albans and Jerry Miles of South Charleston; sisters, Juanita Trilby Miles Miller, Sue Miles Hensley, Sandra Miles Morris, Bobby Miles Sexton and Linda Miles Byrd all of St. Albans, Ruth Miles Gibson of Nitro; grandchildren, Brittany and Hayley Black of Cross Lanes, Matthew D. Miles of Suffolk, Va; great granddaughter, Kaia Miles of Hilton Head, SC.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Friday, January 28, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Delbert Hawley officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
