Obituary

Glen E. Wisnewski, 83, passed away on April 8, 2024, at Hospice Hubbard House in Charleston. WV.  Glen had suffered with Parkinson's/Lewy body for several years.

Glen was born on March 29, 1941, to parents, Alexander Edward and Marguerite Agness (Carnefix) Wisnewski.

He grew up on Charleston's west side and was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. Glen was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Guam. He went to work for Union Carbide after the Air Force and continued to work until retirement from Bayer with 37 years of service.  Glen loved the outdoors and spent many years hunting with good friends.  After elk hunting in Wyoming, he worked as the "camp cook" for five hunting seasons.  He was given the name "Cookie" by the hunters, and he had many stories of good times spent with the guys.

Glen is survived by his wife, Marsha Garnes Pritt Wisnewski and three furbabies, Bingo, Callie, and Cooper.

Glen had three children from his first marriage, Brian (deceased), Shari (Greg) King, and Philip (Brenda). Glen loved his children and was a very proud father.

Grandchildren Kristina Wisnewski, Michele (Mike) Hickerson (their children Brody and Enid), Karen Wisnewski, Daniel and Madison Wisnewski. Bonus children and grandchildren, Jennifer (Don) Breitkreutz, Jodie Breitkreutz, John (Amy) Prit; grandchildren, Skyler Workman (with whom he had a special bond), Ian Pritt, Trey Pritt, Emma Breitkreutz, Ella Breitkreutz, and Nate Pritt.  Also surviving are his sisters, Kay (Jim) Gerencir and Margaret Wade; and several nieces and nephews.

Per Glen's request, he will be cremated, and no services planned.
