Glenn Frederick "Harv" Harvey, 73, of Nitro, passed away at home on August 27, 2015.
He retired after 33 years from the Kanawha Home for Children as a correctional officer. Glenn also worked at Gino's for 30 years. He coached and umpired softball, loved Bluegrass music and racing, especially NASCAR. Glenn always had a smile and never knew a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lucille and Albert Temple and brother, Virgil Harvey.
Glenn is survived by his wife, Darlis Jean; son, Joseph Glenn Harvey of Nitro; daughter, Janice Irene Patton of Nitro, grandchildren, Taylor Thompson and husband, Michael of Barboursville; great-granddaughter, Henley Thompson; brothers, Dallas Lee Harvey of Dunbar, Ronald Harvey and wife, Adabell, of Dunbar, Delmar Harvey and wife, Kathy, of East Bank; sister, Linda Thompson and husband, Larry, of Charleston; and his loving dog, Bandit.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 29 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with the Rev. Doyle D. Young officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
Family and friends may call 2 hours prior to the service on Saturday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
