Glennis E. McClanahan was born October 18, 1934 to Troy and Bertha Reedy. She passed away April 10, 2012 after a courageous battle with cancer.

She married Paul McClanahan in DeRidder, Louisiana in August, 1951 and after 51 years, Paul passed away in December, 2002. They have two children: Dana (Carol) of Dunbar and Denise (Bob) Hamilton of Jensen Beach, FL. She is also survived by her sister Wanda Kingsley of Melbourne, FL. She leaves behind grandsons, Jeffrey Turley and Ryan Ripley of Dunbar and Brian Christy of Jensen Beach, FL, as well as great grandsons, Zackary Christy of Jensen Beach and Dylan Ripley of Dunbar. Sharing our grief is Carl (Peachie) Cain, her devoted companion.

Glennis attended Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle and was active in community organizations such as the Kanawha County C.B. Club, Good Sam Camping Club, Dunbar City Beautification Committee and TOPS and was especially proud of her 50 years of service as an election worker. She was able to travel extensively in her life and visited western Europe and most of the USA, including Alaska and Hawaii. Her travel buddy, Lorene Pitchford, was a kindred spirit and they shared many adventures together. Glennis was gifted with a beautiful smile and a pleasing charm that won her many friends.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Keller Funeral Home in Dunbar on Saturday, April 14.

A service to celebrate her life will be held there at 1 p.m. followed by a private interment at Grandview Memorial Park in Dunbar, where she will rest in peace beside her husband. After burial, there will be a dinner for family and friends at the Roxalana Gospel Tabernacle's Activity Building on Steele Street in Dunbar.
