Goldie Marie Kidd Shamblin, 81, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 23, 2021, in Enid, Oklahoma, after a long battle with dementia.

She was born in Elkview to the late Shelly Kidd and Hettie Kidd Anderson.

Goldie married the love of her life, James Shamblin, on September 5, 1958 in Charleston. Their love story lasted 31 years before James went to be with Jesus. During their marriage they enjoyed living in Illinois, West Virginia and South Carolina. Later Goldie moved to North Carolina and then on to Oklahoma to be near her kids and grandkids.

She loved the Lord immensely. She enjoyed studying the Bible, reading books, cooking, sewing and decorating. Goldie was fiercely in love with and extremely proud of her kids, grandbabies and great-grandbabies. She loved showing off their pictures to anyone who would look.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Pauline Allen, Betty Dodd, Cecil Kidd, Helen Reed and Drema Moore; and her son-in-love, David Singleton.

Goldie is survived by her daughter, Lisa Singleton of Waukomis, Oklahoma; son, Brian Shamblin (Tia) of Longsdale, Oklahoma; grandsons, Alexander Singleton (Chelsey), Nicholas Singleton (Kaitlin) and Ian Singleton; granddaughters, Brandy Singleton, Olivia Singleton and Isabella Singleton; great-grandchildren, Ashton Murray and Autumn Rogers; brothers-in-love, James Reed and Tom Allen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 27, at Sissonville Memorial Gardens with Rev. Al Mendez officiating.
