Gregory Glen Sayre, 58 of Charleston, passed away on November 5, 2015 at CAMC Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on July 2, 1957 in Charleston to Boyd Edison Sayre and Lola May Sayre.
Greg received his PhD in Political Science from West Virginia University. He worked as a lobbyist for the West Virginia Hauler's Association, West Virginia Cashin Recycling, West Virginia Independent Recyclers Association and Putnam County Solid Waste Authority.
He was also once employed by the US State Department as a consultant for Eastern European Communist Bloc countries during their transition to democracy. He was a one-time member of the West Virginia House of Delegates representing Monongalia County and was formally a teacher of Political Science at WVU.
Greg loved life and always had a smile and a laugh for everyone he met.

Greg is survived by his mother, Lola May Sayre of Charleston; brother, Mitchell Sayre of Charleston; uncle, Lee Sayre of Michigan; and cousins and beloved friends.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 9, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
