Guy Emerson
Branham
October 10, 1949 – December 4, 2024
Guy Emerson Branham, 75, of Charleston, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
He was born on October 10, 1949, in Charleston, to the late John and Myrtle Branham.
Guy served in the Navy, stationed on the US Okinawa as a radio operator from April 3, 1969 to March 8, 1971. He earned the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Veteran Campaign Medal.
Guy started his career working as a full service gas station attendant at the age of 14 in Kanawha City. He became a manager and decades later worked for Turnpike Ford in Marmet where he left to become an Auto Tech teacher at Boone Technical School where he loved teaching his students.
He loved being out on the water, fishing and tying flies.
Guy is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Carolyn Branham; daughter, Laura Sample of Clover, SC; granddaughters, Leslie Sample of Sissonville, WV, Casandra Sample of Clover, SC; grandson, Samuel Sample of Clover, SC; brother, John Branham and wife Lilian of Beaumont; sisters, Judy Stephenson of East Bank, Goldie O'Dell and husband Jim of Summerville; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11 in Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, Dunbar.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
