Happy Jack Johnson, 96 of St. Albans, peacefully passed away on January 31, 2011 at the Hubbard Hospice House.

He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Johnson, Sr.

Surviving children, sons-Larry Johnson and wife Mary of St. Albans; Jerry Johnson and wife Sue of Berryville, VA; Bob Johnson and wife Laura of Charles Town; David Johnson, Sr. and wife Bonnie of St. Albans; daughters-Virginia Mellinger and husband Gail of South Charleston; Margaret Sams and husband Manuel of Ashburn, VA; Phyllis Scarberry and husband Frank of St. Albans; and Betty Slawter and husband, Bob of Tornado. Grandchildren: 12 grandsons, 6 granddaughters, 30 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.

We are especially thankful to our niece, Karen Morris and her husband, Tenny Ray, for giving their grandpa the "best possible care" in the last few months of his life.

Graveside service only will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, February 3 at Teays Hill Cemetery in St. Albans with the Rev. Stephen Neese officiating.

There will be no visitation.
