Obituary

Harold V. Harper, 87, of South Charleston and formerly of Ripley, departed his earthly life to enter into his heavenly home on Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Hubbard Hospice House. He was a Christian.

Harold was born in Charleston on January 10, 1920 to the late Clarence and Ocie Belle Harper. He is retired from Valley Bell Dairy and West Virginia Motor Delivery, and was a member of Teamster's Local 175.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Pauline, sisters Lorraine Harper, Carmalee Kennedy, and Floda Litton; and by his brothers Darrell and Wendell Harper.

He is survived by daughters Emma Bird and her husband Leonard of Winfield, Kay Haynes and her husband Keith of Charleston, and Susan Harper of Dallas, Texas; brother Sperrall Harper of South Charleston; grandchildren Lora Boggs and husband Tim of Jonesboro, Georgia, Brian Bird of Elkview, Keith Haynes, Jr. of Hurricane, and Jason Haynes and wife Heather of Charleston; great-grandchildren Matthew, Kerry, Dustin, and Christopher Boggs of Georgia, Ricci Pitzer of Clendenin, and Jason and Kayla Haynes of Charleston; and many loving family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor John Lucas and Pastor Terry Hogue officiating. Burial will follow in Fairplain Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, August 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Flowers are welcome to celebrate his life, or memorial donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston, WV 25311.
