Pastor Harold "Jack" Henry, 85, of St. Albans, made his transition into Heaven Sept. 4, 2015 following a long illness.
Jack was preceded in death by his father and mother, Harold and Opal Henry; Brother Pat Henry; daughter Michelle Henry and grandsons Tyler Henry and Rusty Zollinger.
Jack was greatly beloved by his family, parishioners, business colleagues and friends. He lived an exciting life, and often said "When they write my life story, they'll have to file it under fiction because no one will believe it."
Jack was passionate about ministering and helping hurting people and led hundreds into a relationship with Jesus.
In addition to owning several businesses through the years, he also pastored Assembly of God churches in Madison, Chesapeake, Cross Lanes and Hurricane, W.Va. and Covington, Va. His last ministerial position was at Tabernacle of Praise, Culloden, W.Va. where he served as an associate pastor and was ordained as a bishop.
He was also founding president of Believe in West Virginia.
He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Jean; sons, Robert Henry, Steve and daughter –in-law Loretta Henry; daughter, Patty and son-in-law Russell Zollinger; sister, Nina Robinson; brother and sister-in-law, Ben and Jackie Henry; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Henry; grandchildren, Jennifer Henry, Zackary Henry, Jada Henry, Kaylee Henry; the Zollinger grandchildren and great-grandson Jace Henry.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Bryan Mathews and Sen. Ed Gaunch officiating. Burial will follow at Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, W.Va.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
