Harold N. "Jake" Lumadue, 83, of Dunbar, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007, in Valley Center.
He was a retired Master Sergeant with the US Army, with 20 years of service, having served his country with the 3rd Ranger Battalion, Company A, during WW II. He was a POW for 15 months in Germany. Mr. Lumadue was also a retired manager with Sears where he worked for 42 years.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge and Order of Eagles Lodge #519.
Mr. Lumadue is survived by his wife, Alma H. Lumadue; son, Tom Lumadue and his wife, Diane of St. Albans and their children, Luke and Anna Lumadue; and his daughter, Debbie Beldock and her husband, David of San Diego, CA and their daughter, Jessica Beldock. He is also survived by a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
"Dad was a loving man whose family meant the most to him. He came from a generation that believed in and supported this great country. He served his family and his country well. We'll miss "Jake" as he was always ready to help family and friends."
