Obituary

Harold Lee (Pitt) Martin, 85, of Culloden, went to be with his beautiful wife of 57 years on Saturday, November 21, 2015 with his children beside him.

He attended Dunbar High School before joining the Marines where he served from 1949 to 1951 during the Korean War. Harold retired from Continental Can Company after 27 years.

He was a wonderful, loving husband, great dad and dearly loved his only grandson, Corey. Harold loved camping, hunting, going fishing with friends, and family vacations at Nags Head, N.C. for many years.

In addition to his wife, Phyllis Carol Reese Martin, he was preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Arnold Martin; brothers, Tom Martin, Robert (Irene) Martin, Russell Martin and Elliot Martin.

Harold is survived by his son, Tim Martin; daughter, Kim (Gary) Swann; grandson, Corey; sisters, Deloris (Bill) Keeling, Debbie (Donnie) McVay, Ruth May (Bob) Payne, Marion White and Kate (Gene) Allen; brothers, Norman (AnnaBell) Martin and Abe (Ethel) Martin; and sisters-in-law, Pam Martin, Vicki Martin and Sue Martin.

His family would like to extend special thanks for the compassionate care he received from the Huntington VA Medical Center, Sarah Care, and all his personal caregivers for the last five years.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Harold's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, WV Chapter, 1601 2nd Ave, Charleston, WV 25387.

A tribute to his life will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Dr. Gary Swann officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home.
