Harold Lee Nickell, 96, of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 24, 2017.

He was born on May 17, 1921, to the late Frank and Josie Nickell.

Harold retired from Carbon Industries and was a Navy veteran having served during WW II. He was a very active member of Marmet First Baptist Church and Dunbar Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 49 years, Maxine Nickell.

Harold is survived by his wife of 17 years, Iola Cavender of Dunbar; daughters, Suzanne Bond and husband, Bruce, of Cross Lanes, Sally Nickell of St. Albans; step-daughters, Jennifer Cavender-McNeal of Charleston, Sandra Cavender-Hodgen and husband, Rich, of Macungie, PA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Pete Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may visit one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
