Harry Norman Pannell, 83, of Charleston, peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, October 29, 2022.
He was born on November 1, 1939, to Robert and Nellie May Carter Pannell.
Harry grew up on Wertz Ave and went to Kanawha County schools. From there he went on to work for the Charleston Newspapers and the Charleston Town Center and then retired from K-Mart. He was a jack of all trades and was known to run a store from his home and loved to work on washing machines and dryers as a hobby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Pannell; mother, Nellie Mae Carter-Pannell; father, Robert Pannell Sr.; brother, Robert "Poopie" Pannell Jr.; sister, Berniece Pannell; nephew, Jonathan "John Jr." Pannell; niece, Melissa "Missy" Thompson; great-niece, Malechra Pannell.
Harry is survived by his children, John Diggs (Kasey) of Ohio, Tonya Edwards of Texas; sisters, Carolyn Pannell of Charleston, Geniveve Burnam of Ohio; grandchildren, Termanine Bateman of Florida, John "J.R." Bateman of Charleston, Antonio McClendon of Texas; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah McCallister, Ariyanna Bateman; nephews, Michael Pannell of Charleston, Alfonso Pannell of Charleston; niece, Cerissa Thompson of Charleston; along with children that were like his own; and a host of family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 12, at the King of Glory International Ministries, with Apostle Tina Beatty officiating.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
