Hazel Marie Bailey of Dunbar, passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 25, 2006.
Hazel was residing with her daughter, Janet, at the time of her death.
Hazel, daughter of the late Andy and Doma Richmond, was born on Nov. 6, 1921 at Packville, WV where she resided for 72 years before moving to Dunbar in 1993. Hazel loved the Lord and attended the Fairlawn Baptist Church where she was a very faithful steward of the church. Don and Mary Lanham faithfully brought her to church three times a week. Hazel enjoyed the senior fellowship on Wednesdays when she could play bingo and fellowship, taking with her her "covered dish." She was a 50 year member of the Rebecca Lodge where she served in every office. Hazel served as treasurer and secretary at her church in Packsville.
Left to mourn her departure are two daughters: Deanna Bailey Lewis of Parkersburg, WV, Janet Bailey of Dunbar; one son, Neldon Bailey (Alice) of Lodi, Ohio. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Beth Lewis Minear (Bill) of Charleston, Tana Lewis Uhl (Michael) of Williamstown, WV, Glen Bailey (Victoria) of Lodi, OH, Lorinda Bailey Tagg (Robbie) of Mayfield Heights, OH, Jesse Bailey (Shannon) of Lodi, OH; eight great grandchildren, Janie Beth and Annmarie Uhl, David and Billy Minear, Gabriel, Julian, Olivia and Joey Tagg. Hazel's only brother, Sebert Richmond (Edna) of Cleveland, OH, and sister-in-law, Evelyn Waltz of Centerville, OH, and several nieces and nephews. There were very special people in her life: Curtis Hall, Connie, Bryan, Angie, all of Dunbar, and Michael Lewis of Greenville, NC and many friends from Fairlawn Baptist Church, especially Don and Mary Lanham and Bobbie Jo who took her to church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Glen T. Bailey in 1990, her only sister, Barbara Cloonan in 2005 and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 27, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Harold B . White, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Raleigh County at the convenience of the family.
