Hazel Marie
Hibler
January 7, 1951 – October 24, 2019
Hazel Marie Hibler, 68, a former long-time resident of Dunbar, died peacefully at her home in Charleston on October 24, 2019, with her children by her side.
She was born on January 7, 1951 in Charleston to the late Dorrance Merrell Rowe and Agnes Gertrude Hoover Rowe.
Hazel was a mother and wife. She married Morgan Hibler in 1976 and had many wonderful years together raising their family.
She graduated from Dunbar High School in 1969 and went on to work as a graphic design specialist for over 40 years at Charleston Newspapers, Dunbar Printing, Williard & Associates, the State Journal, Terramite Corp., and eventually retired from West Virginia State University. Hazel had a passion and love for gardening, crystal jewelry, flea markets, and of course, her family. She loved her life. As a Red Carpet Lounge alumnus, she was often found laughing and creating memories with friends while planning spontaneous road trips to antique stores with her friend Barbara.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan Hibler; and sister, Merrell Ann Rowe.
Hazel is survived by her brother, Robert Rowe (Linda); children, Tracie Hibler and Thomas Hibler (Elizabeth); nieces and nephews, Claudia Gilliam, Robert Rowe Jr., and Stephen Rowe; grandchildren, Madison and Aubrey Hibler, Kelsi Rowe, Cordell, Laila, and Alyssah Gilliam; cousins, Neda Jones and Dennis Phillips Jr.; and her very best friend, Barbara Cavender.
The family would like to thank everyone for their continued support and love during this difficult time.
