Hazel R. Johnson stepped into glory with a smile on her face, eager to be reunited with her late husband, Carl B. Johnson, Sr. on Friday, October 3, 2008.
She was born in Clio, WV, on January 19, 1932 to the late Edith Nichols Cochran and Holly Robert Nichols. She always loved to laugh and have a good time with her family and friends and would always provide guidance for any problem you may be facing. She was a devoted cosmetology instructor at Carver Career Center for 23 years, and obtained a masters degree in Vocational Administration. She loved cooking, canning, and crafts of all kinds.
She is survived by the greatest joys of her life, her five children, Carl Johnson and wife, Jean of Texas, Mike Johnson of Dunbar, Linda Johnson of Charleston, Robert Johnson and wife, Linda of Florida, Lisa Stover and husband, Gary of South Charleston; Also, she leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, all of whom she said are perfect!
A celebration of her wonderful life will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Pastor Joey Scarberry officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, October 8, in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
