Helen M. Conner, 80, of Dunbar, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
She was a former employee of the Fletcher Enamel Co., the Duchess Bakery and the Supper Club in Charleston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Vaughn King, her daughter, Barbara Steele, brother, Carl King and sister, Isabelle Shurick.
Surviving are her daughter, Jean Brown and her husband, Ronald of Poca; sons, James Conner of San Jose, CA and Joe Conner and Peggy Sue Hapney of Sylvester; brother, Thurman King of Buffalo; sisters, Gladys Hamilton of Kelly's Creek, Phyllis Douglas of Tyler Mountain and Sue Ellison of Florida. Also surviving are six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 25, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Keith Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnett Chapel Cemetery, Putnam County.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, April 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
