Helen Sargent Spencer, 84, of Dunbar passed away at Hubbard Hospice House West on December 25, 2014.
She was born on August 23, 1930 to the late Wilmer and Oma Riffee Sargent of Dunbar.
Helen was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an active member of Dunbar Church of God where she served as a Sunday School teacher, held several offices and was an active member of many local and state boards of Women of the Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Sherman Mynes; great nephews, Christian James Lester, Geoffery Sargent.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Richard O. Spencer, sons, Richard David and wife, Beverly, of Winfield and Donald Lee and wife, Debbie, of Lancaster, Kentucky; grandchildren, Melanie Young and husband, Ryan, of Louisville, Kentucky, Kimberly Aurelio and husband, Mark, of St. Albans, Rebecca Spencer and Tucker Vaught of Lancaster, Kentucky, Richard James Spencer of Lancaster, Kentucky; great-grandchildren, Mallorie Young, Peyton Aurelio, Marek Young, Carter Vaught, Avery Aurelio; brothers, Chester Sargent and wife, Dolores, of Dunbar, Kenneth Sargent and wife, Mary, of Dunbar; sisters, Wanda Mynes of Dunbar, Wilda Young and husband, Richard, of Anderson, Indiana, Loretta Jividen and husband, Rex, of Dunbar, Joyce Fizer and husband, Daniel, of Scott Depot, Elaine Merrifield of Dunbar; brother-in-law, Emet W. Spencer; many loving nieces and nephew, friends, and church family.

Family and friends may call for visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Dunbar Church of God, Dunbar, 1234 Payne Ave, Dunbar with Reverend Billy Roe, Pastor Leanna Roe and Reverend Dr. Larry McCallister,Sr officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.
