Obituary

Minister Henrietta Dyess, 74, of Charleston, passed away on February 13, 2017 at Hubbard Hospice House West, surrounded by family and friends.

She was born on May 10, 1942 in Litwar. Henrietta was a loving Christian. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at Mt. Zion UHC, under the Pastorship of the late Lillian Giles Hunter. Henrietta was a dedicated usher and member. She was loved by many. Henrietta loved all her children and grandchildren and working with preschool children at Multi-cap Head Start for many years.

She was preceded in death by her father, O.D. Dyess, mother, Lillian Giles Hunter; brothers, Ozell "Pete" Dyess and Orange Dyess, Sr.; son, Eddie Ray Dyess, Sr.; and grandson, Lee C. Dyess, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Estella "Polly" Nappier and Judith Penn; her sons, Lee (Renee) Dyess, Sr., Robert (Loretta) Dyess, Calvin Dyess and her loving and dedicated son,Tony Dyess, her caring and loving daughter, Anita (Perry) Davis; her loving caretaker and sister-in-law, Sandy Dyess; best and long-time friend, Augusta "Gussie" Robinson; and host of family and friends. Henrietta loved and spoiled her 23 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, February 17, at Grace Bible Church, Charleston. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Arrangements are in care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
