Herbert Hill Harbert, 91, of Charleston passed away on September 22, 2015.
He was born in Camden-on-Gauley to the late Clyde and Maude Harbert on September 6, 1924. Herbert was a WWII Navy veteran. He was a meat cutter for McCowns Meat Market for many years.
Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman and was the world's greatest deer wrestler.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Pearl Harbert; and sons, Rick and Mike Harbert.
Herbert is survived by his sons, Randy Harbert of Charleston and Robert Harbert on Rock Branch; daughter, Tamra Sowards of Poca; brothers, Verlin Harbert of Nitro and Dale Harbert of Winfield; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and special friends, Luanne and Julia McCown; he will also be missed by several friends at Tyler Mountain Water Company.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 25, 2015 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
