Herbert W. Harmon's Obituary
Herbert W. Harmon Jr. was born May 9, 1946 in Charleston WV passed away on April 19, 2012 after a long illness.
He is preceded in death by his father Herbert W. Harmon Sr., mother Lenora E. Harmon, brothers Leon M. Carr, William N. Harmon and sister Loretta Miller.
He is survived to cherish his memory by his loving wife of 43 years Sara; two sons, Lee (Lisa) Harmon of Dunbar and Mike (Freda) Harmon of Charleston; sister, Ivin B. Lee of Hurricane; 3 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces of nephews.
Herbert attended Wilberforce College and was a veteran of the United States Navy and employed by Union Carbide and then on to be an independent truck driver. His passion was his family. Herbert had a personality that was infectious and known to many as the man that always smiles.
The family would like to extend a heart-felt thank you to the staff of CAMC MICU and the Hubbard House.
Friends may visit the family from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday April 23 with a memorial service to begin at 1pm.at Vandalia Baptist Church 1500 Mountain Rd, Charleston, WV.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, 304-768-1217.
