Herbert Gregory
Justice
May 3, 1958 – April 2, 2026
Herbert Gregory Justice, 67, died on April 2, 2026 after fighting cancer for over eight years. Herb and his beautiful wife of over 20 years lived in Dunbar, WV.
Greg was born on May 3, 1958 in Spencer, WV to the late Herbert Glen and June Irene Daugherty Justice. The family lived in Left Hand, WV and attended Left Hand Baptist Church. Greg graduated from Spencer High School and attended Parkersburg Community College. He worked at Monarch Rubber Company and Tom Peden Motors in Spencer, at C & O Motors in St. Albans, and most recently at Walker Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Hurricane. Every coworker and customer became a friend and most were given a funny nickname.
If Herb was not working, he was probably on the golf course or at the bowling alley with his friends/family. He was very proud when be bowled a perfect 300 game. Herb was even more proud when his grandson also bowled two perfect games. "DoDa" thoroughly enjoyed being with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great niece. He was born to be a grandfather.
If not playing golf or bowling in various leagues and tournaments, he may have been in the stadium or at home enthusiastically supporting NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs, or the Mountaineers of WVU. Herb loved spending time at the beach in the Carolinas with Barb, and enjoyed cutting grass, weed eating, and taking care of his flowers and tomatoes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ancil and Sarah Kerns Daugherty and John and Myrtle Justice; his brother-in-law, Patrick Anthony; and his great grandson, Ryker French.
Surviving him are his wife, Barbara Justice; his stepsons, Brian Allen (Natalie), Shawn Allen (April), and Corey Morgan (Shaina); his sister, Pamela Justice Anthony; his niece, Vanessa Anthony Austin (Michael); his grandchildren, Taylor Frye, Gannen, Penelope, Oscar, and Arianna Allen; his great grandchildren, Maxton and Wrenly Stevens; along with his great niece, Maddy Austin.
Greg, Herb, Herbie, or "DoDa" - whatever you called him - he was there for you with a smile, a story, and lots of love.
Thank you to the staff of CAMC Cancer Center, CAMC Memorial Hospital, and Hubbard Hospice House for their kindness and excellent care of Herb. Also, thank you to his coworkers at Walker dealership for their support through Herb's journey. We find comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain, and that we will laugh with him again one day in Heaven. Thank you.
