Herbert Franklin Redmon, 76, of South Charleston, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013, at his home.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Hobet Mining Co. and was an avid stock car driver. Mr. Redmon was a veteran of the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn, his brother, Okey Redmon, Jr., and sisters, Irene Caruthers and Mary Frances "Pink" Curry.
Surviving are his wife, Freda Tucker Redmon; sons, Herbert F. Redmon, Jr. of Poca, William P. Redmon of South Charleston and David A. Redmon of Mineral Wells; daughters, Susan D. Clark of Loudendale and Lisa J. Ray of Pearisburg, Va; step-sons, Charles Huffman and William Huffman of Welcome, NC; sister, Betty Smith and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, December 2, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dallas Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
