Hilda Faye Barker, 91, of South Charleston passed away October 4, 2014 after a short illness.
She was born January 22, 1923 to the late Frank and Belva Cobbs in South Charleston, WV.
She worked as a bus driver for several years for Kanawha County Schools for which she retired. Hilda was also an active member in the Springhill Church of Christ for over 75 years.
She was a great mother, grandmother and was loved by many.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Mildred Booher, Launie Welch, and Margaret Burdette; brothers, George and Paul Cobbs.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Hudson of Charleston, Sandra Abbott of Charleston; son, Steve Barker of South Charleston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by special friend, who mom loved as a daughter; Jenny Chandler.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Ministers Raymond Steiner and Bryan Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Cobbs/ Bailey Cemetery, Springhill Mountain, South Charleston.
Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday October 7 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
