Obituary

Hilda Lee Gilreath, 86, of Dunbar, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at the Hubbard Hospice House, after a short illness.

She was retired from the Diamond Department Store with 21 years of service, having worked in the infant dept. She was a member of the Dunbar First Baptist Church and was an avid gardener and loved working with her roses. She also loved to sew and cook, but perhaps most of all loved spoiling her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur, daughter, Cathy Suddreth, brother, Glenn Smith, sister, Ruby Turner and her parents, Daniel and Flora Smith.

Surviving are her son, Daniel Lee Gilreath and his wife, Karen of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Darrell Suddreth of Glen Burnie, MD, Michelle Murphy and her husband, Earl of Hurlock, MD, Andrea Gilreath of Morgantown and Christopher Gilreath of Norman, OK; and four great grandchildren.

The Gilreath family wishes to thank the staff at Hubbard Hospice House for their ever-constant care and support during this difficult time.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 29, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Thomas E. Stevens, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 12 p.m. until service time at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
