Obituary

Homer "Leon" Hudson, 89, of Scott Depot (formerly of Spring Hill) went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Hubbard Hospice House following a short illness.

Leon retired from Putnam County Schools after 24 years of bus driving. He was a bricklayer for Leon Hudson Construction where he built many homes and churches in the Kanawha Valley for six decades. Leon led the music at Grace Wesleyan Church, Culloden for 30 plus years until he became a member of Dunbar Nazarene Church. He was passionate about his local church and was very involved in many ministries.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Goldie Hudson; siblings, Harold Hudson, Phyllis Knight, Robert L. Hudson, Daniel E. Hudson, and Paul Hudson; wife, Faye Hudson; and son, Eddie Hudson.

Leon is survived by his loving wife of 47 and half years, Freda J. Hudson; children, Melody Hudson Kamerer of Butler, PA and Gregory Leon Hudson (Julie) of Dunbar; four grandchildren, Jason Kamerer, Joshua Kamerer (Jessica), Jamie Goehring, and Hannah Hudson; and five great-grandchildren, Devin, Savannah and Codi Goehring, and Alexander and Schaney Kamerer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18 at Dunbar Nazarene Church with Rev. Greg Hudson, Rev. Dr. Joe Kusimo, and Rev. Randy Lanham officiating. Entombment will follow at Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 17 as well as one hour prior to the service at Dunbar Nazarene Church.
