Houston Delbert Thornton, 69, of Dunbar, left this earth and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.

He was born on January 22, 1952 into the family of the late, Delbert and Julia Thornton.

Houston was a graduate of Winfield High School and attended Liberty University, where he played on their first football team. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports and making others laugh with his wonderful sense of humor.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Paxson and Charlotte McCracken; and brother, James Thornton.

Houston is survived by his daughters, Heather Weigum of Denver, Colorado and Jessica Fisher of Garden Plain, Kansas; and his three beautiful grandchildren, Jonah and Madelynn Weigum and Landyn Fisher; sisters, Sharon Haught (Danny) of Winfield, P.J. Elkins of Latvia, Artimecia Lemon of Orlando, Florida; brother, Roger Thornton (Beverly) of Red House; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved him and shared such fun memories.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no service.

We will all miss him so very much and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.
