Howard "Ducky" Darnold, 87, went to be with his Heavenly Father, July 10, 2008. He passed away at home after a long illness, while surrounded by his loving family.

Ducky was born in Charleston, and moved to Fort Pierce, Fla. when he retired from Carbide in 1978.

Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 67 years, Margaret; daughter & son-in-law, Barbara & Carroll Elliott, son and daughter-in-law, Skip & Jan Darnold; grandchildren, Kim & Scott James, Julie & Jason Wright, Angie & Chris Comer, Brent & Sara Darnold and Nikki Darnold; great grandchildren, Felicia & Dominic Deters, Courtney James, JJ & Zachary Wright, Dalton & Caitlyn Comer and Matthew & Abby Darnold. He also leaves behind many nephews, nieces and friends.

Visitation with the Darnold family will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Thursday, July 17, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. and brother-in-law, Bob Grosse officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.
