Howard L. Honaker, Jr., 74, a lifelong resident of Dunbar, passed away on May 18, 2025, after a long illness.

He was born on November 14, 1950, to the late Howard L.and Lillie M. Honaker of Dunbar.

Junior served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971 - 1976.  After the Navy, he came back to start his career in the Plumbing and Heating business.  In 1980, he and his wife Brenda opened Dunbar Plumbing and Heating.  Junior retired in 1997 to work in the family rental business full-time.  He also loved spending time with his family and friends.  Junior attended All-Nations Revival Center, and a proud US Navy veteran.  He will surely be missed by all.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Clara E. Honaker; grandson, Charles "P-man" Gross II, along with his loving Little Dog.

Junior is survived by his loving wife, Brenda K. Honaker; daughters, Sherrie L. Grose (Patrick), Jennifer L. Tuckwiller (Jonathan), and Kelly D. Pitts (Craig) all of Dunbar; grandchildren, Chelsie L. Carr (Bruce), Chase A. Pitts, Chayten L. Pitts, and Chevy H. Pitts all of Dunbar; great-grandchildren, Teaghan N. Grose, Gunner C. Allen, and Brynlee D. Carr all of Dunbar; along with a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Bishop Frederick Hightower officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
