Howard "Judson" Smith, 82, of Dunbar passed away peacefully at Celebration Villa Assisted Living on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

He was a retired semi-trailer truck driver who worked for various companies, and finally retired from Kroger.  Howard was a Christian who attended South Park Missionary Baptist Church, a Teamster, and an Air Force Veteran.

Howard was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Darren; parents, Howard and Eunice Smith; sisters, Eloise Leonard (Eugene), Corky Bailey (Guy), and Betty Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joanna Foster Smith; son, Sean of Charleston; daughter, Cindi Settle (Aaron) of St. Albans; brother, Darest (Brenda) of Hurricane; five grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Howard was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed family get-togethers, playing games, cheering for WVU, watching old Western movies, listening to country music, and was a big Nascar fan.

The family would like to thank the staff at Celebration Villa for their kindness and loving care which Howard received during his three years as a resident.

A celebration of Howard's life will take place on 12:00 noon of Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Keller Funeral Home with Pastor David Keeney officiating.  Burial will follow in Jenkins Cemetery, Kanawha Two Mile.

Family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
