Howell McCormick Browder, 90, of Dunbar, passed away on November 18, 2013 at East Brook Nursing Home in Charleston, after a long illness.

She was the daughter of the late Alvin and Betty Board McCormick. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Albert Bowen and Walt Browder, brothers, David, Bruce, Paul and Joseph McCormick.

Howell is survived by her children, Richard Bowen and Betty Irene St. Clair, brothers, A. D. (Anita) and John (Janet) McCormick and several nieces and nephews.

Howell was a graduate of Charleston High School and attended William and Mary College in Virginia. During her working career Howell was employed by the Diamond Department Store, Kaufmann's and J. C. Penny as a beauty consultant. Howell was very active in helping abused women.

Howell will be honored at a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Reverend David Bush officiating.
