Hugh Leighton Hartley's Obituary
Dr. Hugh Leighton Hartley, Jr., 73, of Hurricane, passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2007.
He was born on April 13, 1934 to the late Hugh, Sr. and Geretha Ernestine Newhouse Hartley. He was a graduate of Dunbar High School, attended VPI, and graduated from West Virginia State College with a degree in mathematics and physics. Dr. Hartley then graduated from Illinois School of Optometry in Chicago. He was a member of the former Evangelical United Brethren in Dunbar, and served his country in the US Army.
Dr. Hartley is survived by his sister, Norma J. Boswell; nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, October 8, at Grandview Memorial Park, Dunbar, with the Rev. Dr. Okey Harless officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
