Hunter Allen Combs

Hunter Allen Combs, 12, passed on Monday, September 21, 2026, due to injuries sustained from a vehicle accident. 

Born on August 3, 2014, in South Charleston, West Virginia, Hunter brought immense light and joy to everyone's lives in his short time with us. Hunter loved basketball, going fishing, scrolling TikTok, and more importantly sharing bright smiles and goofing off with his brothers. 

Hunter is proceeded in death by maternal grandfather, Edward Combs; his great maternal grandparents, Anna Hope and Richard Allen Thaxton; his great paternal grandparents, Ed Mullins and Connie Perdue; his aunt, Leslie Kersey; and his great aunt, Tonia Harrison. 

Hunter is survived by his parents, Lisa Combs and Jeffrey Kersey, and a bonus mother, Debbie Combs; his brothers, Aiden Ferrell, Bentley and Jayce Kersey; his grandparents, Jeff Kersey and Kathy Perdue; his aunts, Abbie Combs, Leslie Combs, Heather Combs, Angela Combs, Chelsea Baker, and Sasha Halstead; his great aunt and uncle; Shannon and Richie Thaxton, Ronda Thaxton and Billy Pauley; a special family friend who is considered an aunt, Heather Hawkins; and very special friends, Cannan and Rhythm. Hunter is also survived by many cousins, friends, and classmates. 

A special thank you to the first person on the scene, Paige Ennis, from Kanawha Valley Veterinarian Emergency Hospital.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. The family will receive guests two hours prior to the funeral service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar. A service will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park.
