Ilia Mae Pickrell's Obituary
Ilia Mae O'Dell Pickrell, a resident of SunBridge Care of Dunbar, went home to be with the Lord on May 21, 2010.
She was 94 years old, born August 6, 1915 near Sandyville, WV in Jackson County.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mable O'Dell, sister, Erma Miller, brother, Herman B. O'Dell and husband Claude Wilber Pickrell.
They moved to Dunbar in the 1940s. She was a member of the Dunbar Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and worked for the City of Dunbar as a School Guard for many years.
She is survived by a son, Okey R. (Thelma) Pickrell of Cross Lanes; daughter, Jean (Howard) Howell of Canton, OH; six grandchildren, Ronald C. (Tauni) Pickrell of Lakeland, FL, Gregory A. (Pamala) Pickrell of Parkersburg, Sheryl A. Montgomery of Toledo, OH, William H. (Amy) Howell, Jeanie M. Howell, Kathy J. (Rob) McMichals of Canton, OH; ten great grandchildren, Steven Pickrell, Caleb and Haley Pickrell, Caitlin and Brandon Pickrell, Devon and Adam Montgomery, Bobby, Alex and Amanda McMichals.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 24, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Minister Donnie Chapman officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Independence Cemetery near Sandyville, WV.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday, May 23, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
