Iris Ann
Andrews-Jackson
August 8, 1947 – May 25, 2025
Our wonderful, sweet mother and grandmother, Iris Ann Andrews-Jackson, 77, of South Charleston (Spring Hill) was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 25, 2025, after a short stay of CAMC Memorial Hospital.
She was born to the late Annabelle and Arnold Award Rhodes on August 8, 1947, at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston, West Virginia.
Iris was a 1966 graduate of South Charleston High School and attended West Virginia State College, where she received her associates degrees in Anatomy and Biology.
Although she held many roles and positions throughout her life, her proudest achievement was being mother to her four children and being a dedicated, faithful Christian and follower of God. There wasn't a person she met or spoke to who didn't hear about all the blessings God has provided to her over the years. She touched and graced everyone with his word until her last breath.
Iris also enjoyed singing, dancing and working in her yard and on her house. She loved using her hands and creating and designing her own solutions while reusing and recycling all materials down to a single screw or nail. She was a single parent and the backbone of our family, working tirelessly to provide for all of our needs.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Andrews of South Charleston; loving daughter, Kathy Jackson of South Charleston; sister, Judy Holly of Baltimore, MD; and brother, Thomas Rhodes of South Charleston.
Iris is survived by her three daughters, Christine Mendel (Todd), Elaine Bleigh (Allen), and Lorie Jackson (Brian Reller); her grandchildren, Sidney Mendel, Tyler Davis, Kelsey Mendel, and Samuel Bleigh; her great-granddaughter, Laken Mendel; her nephews, Robert and Philip Holly; her niece, Melanie Thomas; along with a number of longtime close friends who were also her family, including Kenny Detherage, Yvonne, Whitney and Gerald Perkins, and Sandra Goff.
A celebration of life with be held from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2025 in the Eagle's Nest Restaurant at Little Creek Country Club.
Arrangements are in the care of Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
