Jack O. Ward, 88, of Hurricane, passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family as the result of a life well lived on Wednesday, April 17, 2019.

He was born on June 18, 1930 in Summersville, to the late Okey and Opal Ward.

Jack started his career as a glass plant worker at Libby-Owens Glass Factory in Kanawha City and concluded his career at General Sales Company in Ashland KY.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Okey Ward; daughter-in-law Balinda Ward; first wife, Jean Ward; and his sister Madeline McElfresh.

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou Taylor Ward; sons, Ranson Ward and wife Connie of Hurricane, Gallie Ward and wife Nancy of Winfield; daughter, Malinda Nida and husband Ronnie of Dunbar; step-son, Randy Taylor of Hurricane; step-daughters, Tenia Creson and Greg of King, NC, Tammy Hale and Keith of Scott Depot; sister, Barbara Leedy of Florida; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Teays Valley Center for all their loving care.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Rev. Philip Bowles officiating. Burial will follow in Heaven's Gateway Memorial Gardens, Winfield.

Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
