Jackie Burdette King, 79, of Dunbar, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Thomas Memorial Hospital.

She was born, October 9, 1932 to the late Ted R. and Hallie May Samples Burdette. She was a former employee of the WV State Police Dept. and retired from FMC in South Charleston. Jackie was a member of the Dunbar United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Dunbar Chapter #133. She was a native of Procious, Clay County, WV.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hugh and Laura Samples.

Surviving are her children, Judy Alderman and husband, Danny of Dunbar, Roy King and wife, Mary Louise of Charleston and Sandy Kemp of Cross Lanes; sisters, Sharon Samples and husband, Ronald of Culloden, Linda Bird and husband, Von of Elkview; brothers, Wayne R. Burdette of Procious, Jerry Burdette and wife, Jackie of Charleston; grandchildren, Patty Hughes, Kelly Hughes, Joshua King and wife, Heather and J. Caleb King; great grandchildren, Allison Miller, Savannah Miller and Adeline King.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, January 4, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with Rev. Dr. Okey B. Harless officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens.
