Jackson Norvel Goad, Jr., 80, of South Charleston, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010, at Hubbard Hospice House.
He was a retired driver for Smith Transfer Co. and was a member and two-time Past Master of the Dunbar Masonic Lodge #159. Mr. Goad was 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson Norvel Goad, Sr. and Julia Bostic Goad, sister, Wanda Veazey, brother, Richard "Dickie" Goad and grandson, Ross Baker.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Gail Goad; son, David Goad; daughters, Barbara Starr (Ira) and Tammy Campbell; brother, John Goad; sister, Nancy Gardner. Also surviving are six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, with the Rev. Joseph Wolfe officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 31, at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar, where there will be a Scottish Rite service at 7:30 p.m.
