James Franklin Amos, 70, of Dunbar went to be with the Lord on July 7th, 2013 at home after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife of 49 ½ years, Vivian Lee Amos; son, Leroy and Debbie Amos of Charleston; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jaden, and Matthew Amos; the dog, Maggie; the cat, Harley; half-sister, Jane Amos Tackett of Kentucky; niece, Claudia Carter; nephew, Michael Crockett; great-niece Nikki Runnels; and great-nephew David "Bubba" Tully.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Billie Gillispie; and father, Jim Amos.
James was a long time member of both Dunbar First Baptist Church and Starcher Baptist Church. He served as a deacon and board of trustee.
He was retired from Pfaff & Smith and was a Marine Corp Veteran and served in Vietnam.
Per his request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to HospiceCare, 1606 Kanawha Blvd. W, Charleston, WV 25312, which was God sent.
