James "J.D." Delbert Blackwell, Jr., 70, of South Charleston went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 23, 2014 at home, after a long illness.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #175 and was an avid hunter. J.D. and his wife, Jane were both saved at Brown's Chapel, Dry Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his wife Jane L. Blackwell; and brothers, Vernon Blackwell and John Paul Blackwell.
J.D. is survived by nephew, John Paul Blackwell; several nieces; and a host of friends and neighbors.
A special thanks to nurses, Billie Cullison, Scott Casdorph, and caregivers, Rhoda and Brian Gandee for their loving care.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar with Pastor Mark Thaxton officiating. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25 at Keller Funeral Home, Dunbar.
